We are all looking forward to Lake Gregory's annual Rubber Ducky Derby in 2010. Last years duck derby was so successful all 2,000 duck were adopted but never fear we have a whole new flock flying in for this years competition. This years festivities will be the held on April 3rd the Saturday before Easter 2010. Even though it was foggy and a bit drizzly day last year, lots of spectators came out to cheer their favorite duck. See picture at the bottom. Pancake Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and a Ducky Waddle 8am to 11am This year festivities will be bigger and better. The day will start with a pancake breakfast at San Moritz Lodge put on by Friends of the Library. At the breakfast kids will put together a duck mask for the Ducky Waddle. Gregory the Duck and Easter bunny will lead a Duck Waddle over to the South Shore of Lake Gregory. Egg Hunt 11:45 The Egg hunt was a big success with roughly over 500 kids turned out to find over 2,500 eggs. This year will be even bigger and better. Thank you Boys and Girls Club, and all who participated last year. Race Starts 12:30 At 12:30 Lake Gregory Park Rangers will release all the rubber ducky's down the 320 foot winding water slide. The ducks will plunge into the icy cold lake. Because of their training and diligence they will navigate their way through the spill way. Then the competition gets tuff as they fight their way to be the first to reach Lake Gregory's shore. To buy tickets look for businesses that have a big yellow duck out front. Here's the main quacks who put the derby on last year.

The ducks kind a got stuck and forgot were the finish line was. Luckily the lake boat came out and gave them a prodding. |
This is Chocodile #33 the winner of last years Rubber Duck Derby. The big question is, will he be able to get the Gold again this year too. Rumor has it he has been snacking on his favorite Hostess treats and not working out like he should. This event is Co Sponsored by For More Information about |
